Application process

Assistant Director, ICHEG

Duties and Responsibilities:
The International Center for the History of Electronic Games® (ICHEG) at The Strong, is seeking an Assistant Director. This position will report to the Director of ICHEG and will assist in all aspects of operations, including: identifying and securing collections; overseeing digital preservation operations; researching, writing, and editing online content for the ICHEG website; creating on-site interpretative content; assisting with cataloging and conservation of collections; and assisting with the planning and implementation of exhibits. The Assistant Director will also represent ICHEG and The Strong within the video game universe, including participating at conferences, handling media inquiries, and engaging in social media.
Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in history, computer science, game design, or related field; graduate degree highly desirable
- Solid understanding of video games and the video games industry with a background that is broad enough to view video games within a larger social, cultural, intellectual, and historical context
- High-degree of comfort and proficiency with digital media and computer technology
- Ability to create online and physical interpretive content
- Sufficient interpersonal, analytical, planning, and organizations skills to succeed in cultivating key constituencies for collection-building and institutional advancement
- Highly motivated and well-organized with strong attention to details and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
