Fisher-Price Toys, Inc. began in 1930 specializing in toys for infants and preschool youngsters. The company marketed toys "created to fascinate and stimulate a child's imagination," and it prided itself on producing safe and durable playthings. From its origins more than 70 years ago, the company has flourished and developed many popular toys such the Little People play sets, pull toys, musical instruments, Sesame Street figures, games, and other playthings. Mattel, Inc. purchased the company in 1993, marketing and distributing Fisher-Price toys throughout the world.
