Baby Dancerina
doll
1969
At some point in her life, every girl dreams of being a ballerina, which may be why Mattel Inc. released Dancerina in 1968. The hard plastic doll sports a plastic tiara with a knob inside. When the knob is pushed or turned, little Dancerina does perfect pirouettes. At 24 inches tall, Dancerina was a lot of ballerina. The company produced the doll in smaller versions, a 18-inch Dancerella, and this 12-inch Baby Dancerina.
