Our Cinderella Party

game

1896

The Cinderella story is one of the oldest of children's tales, progbably dating to antiquity. Often retold and embellished, it is recognizeable in many cultures around the world. Late in the 19th century, game producer Selchow & Righter made several different cloth "pin the tail" games. This one features Cinderella; the object is to pin the slipper on her foot. Pin the tail games are also early. It is most likely the first versions were hand drawn on cloth. Perhaps Selchow & Righter produced the first mass-printed examples. This is also printed on cloth, not paper.
