"When You Wish Upon A Star" is a song written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington for the 1940 Walt Disney animated film "Pinocchio." Most recently ranked 7th in the American Film Institute's 100 Greatest Songs in Film History, it is one of only four Disney songs to make this list. Consistently performed by many popular singers since 1940, "When You Wish Upon A Star" is considered, along with Mickey Mouse, a Disney icon.
