My Blue Heaven
sheet music
1927
What makes a hit song? From the late nineteenth century and the popularity of the home piano to the dollar-a-song tunes a listener can download today, many factors contribute to a song's popularity. Some songs, however, endured throughout most of this period. Walter Donaldson wrote the music for and George Whiting the lyrics to "My Blue Heaven," a song still recorded and sung today. This sheet music, for that song, dates from its first introduction in 1927. The cover design features typical dramatic Jazz-age graphics.
