In 2009 a new fashion fad took the young world by storm. For about two years, the Sillybandz line did hundreds of millions of dollars in sales. The colored and shaped bracelets caught on with kids of all ages. They wore and traded the things, and everyone wanted more. Producers kept their designs new and fresh by adding differently-themed designs all the time. As of January 2011 the bracelets' popularity seemed to be waning, but BCP Imports, the marketers of the stretchy strings, stated that it was poised for other exciting projects.
